Dear Dr. Kris, Petra, Carolyn and Anita:

I didn't mean to wait this long before writing you all but I guess this is the time I needed to heal. I received so many Sympathy cards for my Hope, not to mention the kind words from all of you. I knew Hope was a sweetheart, but I guess I just never realized how many other of my friends and neighbors thought so, too.

I have a friend who is a total lab lover as well, so I got to have her 4 year old Black Lab stay with me for two days.  (You might remember her..... Dolores Fliss.  She had brought a puppy to you and that's how I learned about the wonderful work you all do.)  It was so much fun for me to have her lab with me. Contrary to Hope, her dog would take off for every animal so I really had to pay attention on our walks.

I just wanted to take this time to thank you all for the loving care and compassion that you gave to my Hope during her time with you.  I always knew that she was in such expert hands with all of you. Presently, there is no other Lab in my future, and I doubt this will change.  Although I never begrudged the time I spent with Hope, I find myself more able to go anywhere at a moment's notice.  I hope that doesn't sound too selfish........... So for now, I'm enjoying that. (As soon as I'm done writing this, I'll be on my way to Sparta to take care of the Twins while Mom goes shopping.)

I will be in London visiting my daughter and her family over Christmas.  I hope that all of you will enjoy your families as well for the Holidays and that the New Year is chock full of fun-filled, well-deserved surprises for you all.

Again, I can't thank you all enough.........
Most fondly,
